Assignment: We were tasked with designing a scenario in which an idea was pitched to a potential client in the style of an “elevator pitch.”
Reflection: This project was part of a much larger unit which involved generating an idea for a product that could benefit others and solve a current need, and figuring out a way to distill the basic information of the product down to the essential components that could be understood by anybody. This elevator pitch was a way of transferring information about the product in such a way that a layperson would be able to see the need for the product and make sense of it. I had to think about what kinds of questions someone would have about the product as well as how to address various concerns such how to use it and why it would benefit an individual. The project was also designed to give us an idea of how to use multimedia tools in a classroom and have students figure out how to present ideas to their classmates.
